Apps like Sincerely, and what is different.
Evening Pages is an app like Sincerely: anonymous, for adults 18 and over, and pages arrive at 8 pm. It is a diary instead of letters, writing, sharing, reading, comments and follows are free, and there is no AI chat and no direct messages.
What do Sincerely and Evening Pages have in common?
Quite a lot, and we would rather say so. Both are anonymous apps for adults. Both send pages to people in the evening. Sincerely’s own App Store listing says you “receive 3 letters every night at 8pm”. Evening Pages also delivers up to 3 pages a day to each reader at 8 pm their local time. So the 8 pm rhythm is shared ground, not something only one of us does.

What is a free alternative to the Sincerely app?
Evening Pages is free to write, share, read, comment and follow. Like Sincerely, pages arrive at 8 pm. Unlike it, there is no AI chat and no direct messages, and the paid plan only adds extras.
Are there apps like Sincerely that are free?
Evening Pages is one. Writing, sharing (1 page a day), reading, gentle comments and following are all free. Evening Plus ($5.99 a month, $29.99 a year or $79.99 once) adds extras like more photos, every paper and sticker pack, and more notebooks.
What can I use instead of Sincerely?
It depends what you liked about it. If it was the anonymous, once-an-evening rhythm, Evening Pages keeps that and turns it into a diary: you write a decorated page, and a few real readers get it at 8 pm. If it was letters, Sincerely may still be the better fit.
Which one should I pick?
Pick Sincerely if
- You like the letter format and already have a routine there.
- You want the way it does conversations, since that is not something we offer.
Pick Evening Pages if
- You want a diary habit, not only letters: one decorated page a night, bound into notebooks.
- You want reading, commenting and following to be free.
- You want no AI chat and no direct messages.
- You want to choose, page by page, what is private and what is shared.
You can also use both. They are different enough to sit side by side. Read how venting works on Evening Pages in our vent app guide.
